Hi, I was directly involved in the attempt to force Bush’s uncle to return Geronimo’s skull to the Apaches in Arizona back in 2000. We even tried to get McCain to help us and he did….the Bushes gave the Apaches a skull only it was tested by the University of Arizona and was a child’s skull. This was returned, over my loud objections, to the Bush family.

Since that day, no word from them at all about this matter. But then, the Lightning Gods of the Desert are at the Gates of Death, waiting with Geronimo. I wouldn’t want to be any of the Bush Skull and Bones people, when I die, that is certain.

Gernimo’s family has more rights to the remains then anybody in the world, they SHOULD give them back! Geronimo is NOT a dog in a pony act in the circus. This makes my blood boil! GIVE THE REMAINS BACK TO HIS FAMILY! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let Geronimo rest in peace! No wonder Geronimo KICKED the U.S. Armys butt!

Hi there. I highly doubt those are true descendent’s of Geronimo because my family has proof of him being linked back to us and our family.

I am requesting his help in getting the remains – the skull and the femur – returned, if they were taken.

Wouldn’t it be prudent to establish if something is missing before demanding its return or lamenting its loss?

Well said, Afarensis. I don’t share Isaac’s ethics on Geronimo’s remains to be displayed in a museum. People can learn a lot about him and his people without necessarily having to have his body as a tourist attraction. Geronimo is not an artifact. He was a person.

The respectful and honorable end to this situation is to repatriate his remains back to his people, who will rebury him and give him the proper respect he deserves.

I’ll be looking forward to hearing from you about what NAGPRA has to say. I don’t know either if private associations are bound to NAGPRA, but it is a federal law, and that should apply to everyone. No one is above the law, or at least that’s how it should be.
