		<description><![CDATA[The article said it takes many hours to polish jade with sand.

Recently a coastal city near modern Shanghai was found dating to 4ka. Diamond mines were near there, diamond dust was used to polish very hard stone axes. Seems likely that the same was done to the jade pieces, perhaps quartz sand and diamond dust mixed with water, to speed up the work. 

Polynesian pigs originated in Vietnam, chickens originated in south east Asia. Lots of goods and services exchanged in a wide-spread network. The number 5, is lima from Taiwan, Vietnam (Cham), Philippines, Samoa, Madagascar, Bali, etc. indicating common trade terms. Jade &amp; bronze were widely traded.

I wonder if the huge stone money in Micronesia Yap/Truk were simply enlarged Chinese round coins (with donut hole at center for stringing), enlarged because the natives had no written numerical value system.]]></description>
