Site H1 – Burial B2 ” Girl with the Bracelet”
A young girl estimated to be 12-15 years old) was buried with possibly a bone bracelet on her upper left arm. Paul Sereno and Elena Garcea thought this was the first time jewelry was found in situ in the Stone Age. Elena Garcea thought that most of the skeletons here were buried in animal skin bags and that is why the knees and legs come up so high. The skeleton is in Chicago at the University of Chicago Lab. It was found with fish vertebra and is assumed to be Kiffian age and around 7000 – 8,000 years old.
