  1. Dear Researchers,

My name is Ana Mendonça, I am currently preparing my PhD project which will focus on the genetic assessment of diversity prior to anthropogenic influence in one of the most threatened seal species in the world – Monachus monachus.

In order to do this, I need to analyze and compare ancient monk seal samples with the actual remaining populations and this is why your collaboration is so important. i understantand that there where some remains of this species found in this archaelogical site.I would like to ask you if you might have any sample of this species among your collection and if possible what is the procedure I should follow to obtain a sample to include in my PhD project.

I would be grateful for any contact and available to answer any questions about my PhD project.

    With best regards,

    Ana Mendonça
